Photo Challenge #4- Colors!

Hello my loveys! It's time for photo challenge #4- the next to last one in this series! We'll have one more after this one and then we'll have our vote off! :D

(Also, for the winners/ runners up of Challenges 2 and 3- I haven't forgotten about your features! Hopefully I will get them posted today! For more info on the prizes, go here!)

If you are new to my photo challenges, please go here to check out the rules and prizes! :)

So if you want to enter, grab the button above and link up! This contest and the Linky below will be open till next Thursday, October 7th at midnight PST. And all photographers of all skill levels are welcome. And you don't need a fancy camera either. :D And you can edit your photos if you want, but you definitely don't have to! I'm just looking for passion in the shot. :D

This week, I want to keep it simple but still fun.  I know you will all have fun with this challenge! I know I did. It does seem almost too simple, but really it pushes you to think outside the box of photographing a subject perfectly and instead concentrating on the gorgeous colors that make up said subject.  Kinda weird at first, but once you get in to it, you won't be able to stop taking pictures! (But remember to stop long enough to come back here and enter your gorgeous pix! :D)

This week's theme is:

Colors!...

This is a very broad category, and you can enter up to 3 pictures if you like. What I mean by colors is that I want color to be the dominating factor in the picture. It doesn't really matter so much what your subject is, but what color/ color combo make up the composition of your photo. As you will see below from my shots, you don't have to just take a picture of a blank wall or have the whole picture be one color. You can still have your subject be in the picture. But I want the colors to really speak. Blurry? That's fine! Fuzzy or noisy? Totally ok! Remember- not looking for perfection, I'm looking for passion and heart! Feel free to crop or edit as you'd like.

Here are some examples I took recently with this theme in mind...

Reds

Oranges and Yellows

Greens, Teals and Blues

Pinks

Whites, Grays, and Blacks

So grab your camera and get clicking! Come back here and enter, and don't forget to link your entries to your blog post about this challenge! Invite your friends! Have fun and good luck!

Special announcement!!!

The guest judge will be... drumroll please...

love you!

It's Photo Challenge time!!! (Don't forget the prizes!!! :D)

Hello all!
As promised, here is my very first photo challenge/ contest! I am super excited about it, and I hope you are, too! :D

As you may know, I am currently taking a photography class online with the amazing Lisa Wiltse. I encourage you to go check out her stuff, it's awesome!
And every I will have an assignment to do, and I want you to do them with me! Only you get to take the pictures and have the chance to win awesome prizes! :D
There will be 5 weeks of contests corresponding with my 5 weeks of classes. After the contest is over, the 5 1st place winners and 3 runners up from each week will be placed into a poll (20 pictures total) and my lovely readers will pick the winner who will receive one of my handmade Etsy items of their choice and a super awesome secret surprise! (See below for rules about the grand prize contest)

So this week's theme is PERSPECTIVE

Here is what I was assigned to do to get different perspective of things around me:

Here is something I call point of view, I find this really helps in exploring composition and to  build an understanding of point of view and to look at a familiar setting in new ways
Point of View:
What other points of view can you find and photograph?
FIND and PHOTOGRAPH:
A Statue From the ground up
A Reflection From above
A Circle, Triangle, Square shapes from the ground up
A Tree Branch from the ground up
A Shadow From above
A Person From Close up, far away, from left, from right and in their environment
A street scene, all angles
Surprise Me! From Your Unique Point of View

For this contest to run smoothly, PLEASE read all of the following/ rules
*You DO NOT have to have a fancy camera. All photographers of all skills and equipment are welcome. I am definitely no pro! LOL! :) You can submit raw photos or pix that you have photoshopped. But editing will not give you bonus points. What I want is passion and creativity in the shot. But you are welcome to edit your pix as you like! :)

Here are the rules:
1. Pick a theme from above that you would like to photograph (*Note- you DO NOT have to take pictures for every theme- you only need to enter ONE), take a few snapshots and pick out the one you like best.

2. Grab my photo challenge button and put up a post with the button and the pic you took.

3. Enter your picture and post into the Linky below (have your picture link back to your post).

4. You're all done!

*However- if you would like to take pictures for more than one theme, go for it! You don't need to put a separate post on your blog for each picture you enter, just have one post with the challenge button and the pictures you entered.  BUT if you DO want to enter more than one picture, you need to enter each picture in the Linky below separately with each one leading back to your one post about the contest. You can enter as many of the themes as you like, but please, only one picture per theme.

I will enter a few pictures into the Linky as an example.

If you are confused at all, just comment with your question and I will clear it up!

I am going to have a very special guest judge to judge the photos for this first week! So get those pictures in! The Linky will close next Tuesday at midnight PST.

Now on to the other good stuff...

PRIZES!
There will be one winner, and, depending on how many people who enter, runners up and honorable mentions. I will also pick out a few of my favorites.
So there will be buttons next week that you can grab if you are a winner, runner up, etc. :D

For each weekly contest:
The 1st place winner will receive: A feature on TPRM and 2 of my homemade guest soaps of their choice!
Runner's up will have their buttons placed on my front page for a week with a post linking to their sites.
Honorable mentions will receive a post linking to their sites.

For the final vote off:
The grand prize winner after the 5 contests will receive any one of my handmade Etsy items of their choice and one super awesome prize that will be revealed before the vote off! :D

The runners up (up to 5) will receive some of my homemade guest soaps and a small but super awesome secret prize that will be revealed before the vote off!

*To be considered for a place in the vote off poll, you must enter at least 3 of the 5 contests and place either 1st or runner up in one of the contests. But you will have a week to enter each one, so it shouldn't be too hard! :D

The runners up will receive a featured post about their sites here on TPRM!

Here are a few (but not all) of my pix for the themes (these pictures have not been edited or cropped, but you may do so with your pictures! :)):

A statue from the ground up

A reflection from above

Circle, triangle, and square shapes from the ground up

A tree branch from the ground up

A shadow from above

A person from close up, far away, left, right, and in their environment

Street scene- all angles

My unique point of view

Good luck!!!
I cannot WAIT to see your pictures!!!
